SUMMARY
Perform detail level, non-supervisory engineering analysis and design of new and modified components in accordance with engineering standards and project scope.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Represent the Company and foster relationships with its clients.
2. Maintain effective communication with suppliers, internal and external customers, and outside resources concerning technical issues
3. Enforce the proper use of engineering criteria and drawing standards. Ensure that technical issues are conducted within the framework of company policies and procedures

5. Evaluate designs for performance, safety, and reliability

- Lead Mechanical Technician
-
Lead Mechanical Technician needed for on-site support at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center. Position will be in support of the Advanced Manufacturing area with primary responsibility for verification of mechanical fabrication products using CMM, Faro Arms and Laser Trackers. Must be experienced with CMM operation, reading of mechanical drawings, dimensional analysis, and familiar with CNC operations. Responsibilities will include planning, coordinating, and directing a quality control program designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards. The Lead Mechanical Technician will develop and analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished products. They will ensure that production procedures are adhered to with the goal of maximizing product reliability and minimizing rework costs. - CNC Machinist/Programmer
The CNC Machinist/Programmer is responsible for the creation and revision of numerical control programs for the machining of parts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/ DUTIES:
Five plus years of experience with operation of CNC Lathe using MASTERCAM software.
Five plus years of experience with plunge and wire EDM machines.
Experience with MASTERCAM software for generation of CNC programs.
Willingness to work overtime, holidays, weekends as required

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
PROGRAMMERS SHOULD HAVE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE OF THE FOLLOWING:
1. Experience on vertical mill (3- and 4-axis) with Fanuc, Okuma, Haas, Toshiba, Siemens, and Heidenhain controls.
2. Experience on horizontal mill (3-, 4-, and 5-axis) with Fanuc, Okuma, Haas, Toshiba, Siemens, and Heidenhain controls.
3. Experience on horizontal and vertical lathes with Fanuc controls and live tooling
4. Experience on mill-turn, positioning 5-axis, and full axis machines with Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain, and Okuma controls
5. Experience on plunge and wire EDM machines
6. Extensive knowledge of geometry, trigonometry, and algebra as they apply in the machine shop
7. Successful experience in writing programs by hand with calculator and pencil (this will ensure that the candidate knows the "why" behind the "how")
8. Knowledge of Mastercam (version X or newer is a must) CAM software as it relates to generating programs for ALL of the equipment mentioned in 1-5 above
10.Knowledge of SolidWorks CAD software. Knowledge must allow candidate to create and edit process drawings as needed and to create his/her own solid models when necessary

SUMMARY
Program machines for manufacturing and assist those with less experience understand and comply with the set-up process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Use computer aided manufacturing (CAM) system to program.
2. Independently complete full set-ups, first piece inspections, and run all needed production according to PPI’s manufacturing and quality standards on all PPI equipment (manual and CNC).
3. Troubleshoot and edit programs/set-ups.
4. Know and understand machine production and codes.
5. Know speeds and feeds for various materials.
6. Read and correctly interpret all internal & customer manufacturing blueprints.
7. Read and operate all of PPI’s standard quality measuring tools.
8. Complete work assignments, to required tolerances, on time, and on budget.
9. Maximize program efficiency.
10. Design and manufacture fixtures when necessary
12. Support the manual department as needed, bench work (de-burring, sanding, tumbling, etc.).
