Optical Fiber Dressing System
PPI has developed a series of cable attachment and dressing systems for our client’s optical current sensor. Direct Digital Manufacturing with SLS is utilized to produce complex mechanical shapes which retain and protect the delicate optical fiber. Three-dimensional shapes can be produced economically using this process, yielding a superior end product with minimal investment in development time and tooling.
Challenges included Mil-1671 vibration and Mil-901 shock hardening.
