Endoscopy Mannequin and Cart
This device serves as the basic platform for the client's suite of virtual reality Endoscopic training systems. The system consists of a multi-axis haptic system, including the ability to generate realistic forces throughout a 6-foot insertion length during colonoscopy training. In addition to a very complex yet cost-effective motion platform, the device includes interchangeable anatomical references which simulate the look and feel of human anatomy. PPI provided turnkey OEM services, from concepts through volume production.
Anatomical features used during medical procedure simulations were CAD modeled on a generic looking Mannequin face. The resulting CAD file was Rapid Prototyped in SLS for functional evaluation. After the design was approved, copies of the RP part were made using a urethane casting process.
