Optical Water-Quality Sensor
Our client has developed an electro-optical system for measuring dissolved oxygen levels using a non-contact fluorescence method. PPI designed and manufactured a mechanical package for the electronics, which permitted total submergence in a water bath. A tubular stainless steel enclosure was designed, and included a removable, o-ring sealed cartridge for the fluorescent sensing disc.
Challenges included watertight and rugged construction, along with mechanical design of multiple high-density printed circuit boards.
