Our client approached us with a request to submit "something different" for their design competition and we took the request to heart. We began by developing an "organic" building footprint that follows the natural contours of the site while providing optimal views from the guest rooms. Technology features include a "mirage" type effect utilizing high performance reflective glass on the front facade, which makes the building appear as though it were out in the ocean when seen from the road. Though the overall aesthetic is contemporary, we defined the lower public areas with an "adobe village" that cuts through the guest towers.
