When U.S. CECOM needed a rapid response effort to re-engineer the installation kit for its line of service and reconnaissance vehicles, they turned to PPI for a fast and expert solution. Working from a sample kit and incomplete documentation from the part’s original OEM, PPI was able to not only reconstruct the kit’s design; they were able to improve on critical components such as the kit’s pan/tilt gimbal. The resulting re-engineering provided a kit compatible with the full line of the U.S. Army’s HEMTT, FMTV, and HMMWV vehicles in just under four months. The improved design features and superior manufacturing processes of PPI also provided CECOM with a savings of over $7,000 USD per kit.
