Because PPI has fully integrated Rapid Prototyping into its product development and supply chain processes, it is rapidly advancing as a leader in the additive manufacturing industry. In addition, our initiatives push the limits of this new technology and explore its applications in multiple industries.

Rapid Prototyping (RP) is the term used to define a host of related technologies that are used to "3d-print" physical objects directly from computer generated 3D models. The level of detail and manipulation RP is capable of allows for unprecedented accuracy and complexity.

PPI’s Rapid Prototyping equipment uses a method called Selective Laser Sintering. Through SLS particles of raw material are heated with a laser until they fuse into a solid layer. The machine then places another layer of particles upon the previous layer and fuses them together. This is repeated until a solid, durable product is built. Products made through this process are fabricated in mere hours and ready to be used for evaluation and testing.
