SBIR Programs
The Small Business Innovation Research program is a federal program wherein smaller companies compete for federal funding by offering ideas to either advance a new technology or solve a technical issue. In 2005, PPI formed an internal SBIR team to pursue SBIR-funded projects. Since then, PPI’s efforts have proven largely successful, having won three competitions at the phase I (feasibility) and II (prototyping) levels. These projects include:
V-22 Osprey, US Navy, NAVAIR
PPI has won Phase I and Phase II SBIR funding for the development of an innovative insulation blanket attachment system for the V-22 Osprey.
US Air Force, AFRL
PPI won SBIR Phase I funding to develop an innovative replacement Aircrew Personnel Lowering Device.
M-4 Rifle, US Army, PEO Soldier
PPI has won Phase I SBIR funding for the development of an integrated power and communication attachment system for the M-4 rifle accessory rails.
